DESCRIPTION:The aecial stage is a bright orange growth made up of numerous cluster-cups. SPORES: Aeciospores measure 20um - 27um * 17um - 26um. Urediniospores are minutely echinulate and measure 25um to 35um * 17um to 25um. Teliospores 25um to 45um * 15um - 25um. HABITAT: Telial and uredinial stages are found on Scirpus maritimus (Sea Club Rush) whilst the aecial stage is found on Hemlock Water Dropwort and close relatives. SEASON: Can be seen at different stages throughout most of the year but the attractive aecial stage is best seen in early summer. |
